This print is made-to-order on our professional Giclee-quality printer using high quality fine art paper (Innova FibaPrint 300gsm) and archival inks. This isn't a poster, this is a fine art print; the paper is much thicker and heavier than is used for posters (it's more like card than paper), and the use of archival inks means you can frame it and it will last for years without fading. Our mounts (mats) are archival with a neutral-ph non-acidic core, which will keep its colour for the lifetime of the print.

Unmounted prints arrive board-backed but not mounted, and have a small (approx. 3mm) white border around the image to allow for mounting. All prints are wrapped in protective clear polypropylene packaging.

About Chris Down

A self-taught artist, Chris's work has appeared in magazines and over 40 books, including the best selling Real Witches series for Thorsons-Element. Chris has also authored three books of his own. The last two, for publishers David & Charles, were reprinted in UK, American, German, French, Russian and Chinese editions.

"Looking back at the trajectory which my art has taken, it can be hard to see the connection between the different stages. Custom spray painting motorbikes in the 1980's. Celtic art through the 1990's. Book illustrating, mostly in traditional pen and ink. Then digital fantasy painting over the last few years. Different styles, different mediums, different eras. For me, the glue which holds it all together and informs much of what I do, is the proximity to where I live of Stonehenge. It has been within walking distance for most of my life. Even the school I went to was called Stonehenge school. The draw of the monument and the free festival held there in the time of my youth was a key influence to my development as an artist. I can feel its roots through much of what I do. I saw there was a life other than the one I had known previously. For me, art is a journey of exploration. When I start a painting, I do not always know where it will take me. But I do know it will be to somewhere else. A journey to the otherworld."
